District Operated vs. Contracted Service Analysis

Curious as to what the differences are between contracted bus transportation and district operated services? Is one cheaper than another? Is one better than another? What are the pros and cons of each approach?

TransPar has experience with district-operated, county-operated, state-operated and contracted pupil transportation services. All have their merits; each has its shortcomings. We can help you understand your system and draw comparisons to any system alternatives that you are contemplating.

TransPar has assisted schools with utilizing local public transportation for student transportation. Although the Federal Transit Administration places restrictions on the use of public transportation to transport students to and from school, opportunities exist within the regulations to access this service and benefit from your local transit authority’s low costs and continuous service. This brochure will answer any initial questions.

Also, we can represent you or counsel you as you pursue a negotiation or an RFP (Request For Proposal). We have no bias, and therefore can guide you to the solution that works best for your situation.
