Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a school bus contractor?
No, we are not. TransPar is a team of experienced transportation professionals who help school districts be more effective and more efficient with their busing. That process can take many shapes, depending on the situation and the customer's needs.

Can you save us money?
In many cases, the answer is yes. But that depends on sorting out needs versus wants. Many districts struggle with that problem. We objectively determine opportunities for efficiency while maintaining responsible service levels.

Why should we hire TransPar when we could hire a good manager?
A good manager is an excellent asset. But a good manager backed up by the knowledge, experience and management systems of the TransPar Group is irreplaceable. We work with a number of such good managers around the country.

Can TransPar save me money compared with contracting?
In many cases, yes. Every situation is unique. We believe that, together, we can determine the most responsible approach for your district. School districts sometimes have an advantage with regard to: fleet financing, insurance, driver pay and benefits - to name a few. The critical requirement is professional management. That's what TransPar brings.

Does TransPar compete with school bus contractors?
No, we do not. If your situation calls for contracting service as the best solution, that's what we'll recommend. And, if you want, we can provide objective assistance in the selection and management of those contractors.

What if we do all of our transportation in-house?
Whether your school buses are operating with your own people or through selected contractors, it is the end result that is important. If performance isn't what it should be, we can help either way.

How do you manage contractors?
First, we know the business well. Second, our primary accountability is to assure the responsiveness of the contractors while achieving new levels of efficiency for the district. Everybody must understand what is expected of them. Effective management requires a great deal of planning, coordination and ongoing assessment. TransPar has the tools to ensure that value is received.

What does TransPar do first?
Meet with you to get a clear understanding of the situation and determine base needs. Then, conduct a thorough assessment of the problem area or areas and present you with a set of findings and recommendations.

Do you only work with large school districts?
No, we work with school districts of all sizes throughout the country.

Do you only work on large problems?
No, we work on large, or small, transportation problems. Whatever is keeping you awake at night - or from doing more important things.

Do you help districts with bid specification assessment?
Yes, we work with districts at any level of bid development they want, from writing to reviewing to doing the actual contractor selection.

Can you help districts with district boundary planning?
Yes, we work with school districts all over the country to help them determine the most efficient district boundaries, based on demographic trends research, routing and logisitic solutions, and analysis of other important factors.

Can you help adjoining districts create a combined transportation system?
Yes, we have helped establish multi-district programs to maximize service and minimize costs for all districts involved.

What is unique about TransPar's TracAnalysis™?
The TracAnalysis™ Comprehensive System Evaluation offers a three-tiered examination like no other: high touch...high tech...and high value. It covers human resources, safety, operations, customer services, cost control and maintenance. Step by step, person by person, form by form, we work through your transportation program.
